Phase 1 covers the most common, low-risk residential trades: Painting, Tiling, Flooring, End of Lease Cleaning, Gutter & Roof Cleaning, Window Cleaning, Roof Painting, and Commercial Cleaning. Plastering and Carpentry come in Phase 2. Licensed trades (Electrical, Plumbing) follow in Phase 3 once our licence verification system is fully operational.
When your job is sent to tradies, each one submits their quote independently without seeing any other quotes. This prevents the race-to-the-bottom bidding wars you see on platforms like hipages and Airtasker. When you compare quotes, you see prices and ratings side by side — but tradies can never see each other's numbers.
All payments are held in escrow — a secure third-party account — before any work begins. Your money is released to the tradie in stages, only after you review and approve their photo evidence at each milestone. If a dispute arises, Quovr mediates and escalates to NSW NCAT if needed. Every tradie goes through a 6-step onboarding: ABN verification against the Australian Business Register, NSW Fair Trading licence check, Certificate of Currency for public liability insurance, portfolio review, and a conduct agreement. Tradie details (name, licence, contact) are masked until a deposit is paid — protecting you from any off-platform arrangements.
At job completion, you have the option to book an independent NSW-licensed building inspector to formally assess the work. They visit the site, produce a detailed report, and identify any defects the tradie must rectify within 14 days. The report is stored on your job record permanently — useful for warranty claims, insurance, or future property sales.
No. All contact details are masked until a deposit is paid — tradies never see your phone number or email before that. All communication is through our in-app chat, which is AI-monitored for off-platform contact attempts. Any tradie caught trying to arrange off-platform deals is permanently banned. The platform is designed specifically to prevent this.
